With its population of over 240 million, Indonesia is the world’s
fourth-largest nation. Its economy is fl ourishing: in 2010, the gross
national product grew by 5.9 per cent, and in the coming years average growth is expected to be at around 6 per cent. A growing
middle class with plenty of purchasing power and growing
aspirations in terms of living standards are encouraging the expansion of consumer goods industries in particular.
As a response to the growing importance of the Indonesian market for plastics products, Messe Düsseldorf and Messe Düsseldorf Asia will be involved in the Indoplas trade fair as of 2012.
